Welcome to Rural Child Health.
Helping you to thrive, not just survive through motherhood with strategic parenting & development support for you and your child.
You shouldn’t have to endure this stage of motherhood - you should thrive in your child’s sleep routine. Let Rural Child Health work with you to create a customised routine that works for your family.
Rural Child Health wants to eliminate your fears around breastfeeding and create a proactive, easy and comfortable routine that sets you up for success.
The support doesn’t end after the baby is born. Rural Child Health empowers you with actionable, achievable strategies that support you all through early motherhood. From the birth of your first baby to when your last baby turns 18, Rural Child Health is here for you.
My name is Rebecca Bradshaw – I’m a rural mother, wife, and award-winning clinical child health nurse who lives out the daily parenting journey just like you.
Let me help you on your daily parenting journey.
I am a rural mum, living the same daily challenges that you are living as a rural mum. I am here to help.
I connect with so many women who feel isolated. They are enduring, and not enjoying motherhood. They just want to feel human again.
After spending nearly two decades, helping rural, regional and extremely isolated mothers with their babies,
I decided it was time to nourish my own dream. So, Rural Child Health was born. Rural Child Health is a healthcare initiative that grants regional and isolated families the same access to high-level maternal child health expertise, parenting programs and education sessions that metropolitan families receive.
No longer will rural families have to travel hundreds of kilometres to receive high calibre, qualified and experienced healthcare for their babies.
Help and support in the comfort of your own home is only a quick phone call away.
SO WHY CHOOSE ME?
Because I care. My heart aches at the thought that there are mums, at home, alone feeling like they are failing.
I have been that mum. I have been the mum who had to struggle to navigate the ridiculously complex health system to get my child the care they needed and deserved. I want to empower you as a parent to navigate the health system and be your child’s biggest cheerleader.
I have been that mum who was sure her baby must be broken because he didn’t sleep like the rest of the babies did and I was the mum, who out of sheer determination was able to persevere through a mountain of breastfeeding challenges, alone, because I couldn’t access the services or support I needed.
Rural families choose me because I understand what it means to be a rural mum raising a family on the land.
I relate to the unique challenges that come from raising a family here, I am living them, just like you are.
Sure I have some pretty cool accolades to my name that as a nurse I am really proud of but I am most proud of the mummas who have trusted me to join them on their parenting journey. To see them grow into the mother they want to be, to see them delight in their baby as they understand them and themselves better…
That is what I am most proud of as a health professional.
I want you to thrive in your parenting journey, not just survive it.
To do this you need a health professional who is warm, kind-hearted, and supportive. Someone who is an expert child health nurse but understands you’re the expert on your child and family.
You need someone who is going to lift you up and give you the tools and knowledge you need to have confidence in your parenting choices and style. You need someone who walks beside you in your parenting journey who wholeheartedly wants to see you be your best self, not lose yourself, as you become a mum.
That someone is me.
